What's it all about?

County Patrol Camping Weekend ('CPCW') does exactly what it says on the tin. It's a weekend for Scouts to camp as Patrols - without leaders! That doesn't mean that there is no adult support at the weekend, just that the Scouts are responsible for planning the weekend and taking care of themselves:

  • Making the booking
  • Organising the menu, buying food and cooking

There is a competitive element to the weekend, with prizes and a trophy for the winning Patrol. That said, the emphasis is more on having fun and learning to be self-sufficient and the Scouts can take the competitive part as seriously as they like!

The weekend is run alongside "CESAW" an event for Explorer Scouts (County Explorer Scouts Activity Weekend).

When is it?

CPCW 2008 runs from 3 to 5 October and will be held at Youlbury Scout Activity Centre.

I'm a leader and would like to help

Great. The event needs about 40-50 staff to run over the weekend. Adult support is needed in all sorts of areas - Zones, Activities, Toilet cleaning (!) - no skills unused. E-mail to let us know: cpcw@scoutsoxon.org.uk.

All the information that is needed to make a booking onto this year's event is contained in the document below:
